Big Day

Today has been a big day...Drake is giving CPAP a try! So far, so good! We knew we were headed in this direction, but we had no idea today would be the day. This news made for quite an exciting morning! He seems really comfortable on CPAP. You can do it, Drake! We are so proud of you!

Kennedy has had a big change, too. Instead of continuous feeds over 4 hours, she has condensed feeds over 2 hours and then an hour to rest before her next feed begins. This will allow her body to start physiologically feeling full and hungry, which is an important part of their development.

One day at a time, little by little, they are making great strides. Keep it up little ones!

  2. I so look forward to reading your posts every day. I became addicted to these sweet babies about day 19 and I feel so fortunate to pray for you all and to watch God's miraculous works. Mom... Dad... you are nothing short of amazing. You make me want to be closer to God and to glorify him in everything just as you two do.
Keep up the good work and go babies go!!!!!

  3. Annie - the above post is a true tribute to one of the many lives your two miracles have touched. Every day reading your blog is a daily reminder that even when there are bumps in the road, prayers will help get us over those hurdles. Sometimes it may not be the answer we want at the moment, but it very well could be the answer we need.

Syd and Ali are still sleeping as I am up about to get ready for school. I think back to when they were little and I thank God every day for the two amazingly beautiful girls he gave me.

Syd is going to LOVE Drakes elephant on his onesie! I can't wait to who it to her tonight! Kennedy's eyes are just heart warming!

Have a wonderful day. We will continue to pray and celebrate all the victories yours and Brian's little miracles receive.

Love and hugs - Yvonne and Sydney

  5. Woohoo! Here we go! They are making a dash for the NICU finish line! I think they are anxious to go home with mommy and daddy. It is amazing how hard someone so tiny can try! You have special kids for sure.

Keep up the good work Drake and Kennedy!

  6. Go Drake! Show CPAP that you can do it! Knock it out and keep getting those lungs of yours built up :) You will need them strong so you can help daddy carry a big buck one day soon!

Great job Kennedy! Keep eating and drinking up that milk, will just make you a bigger and bigger baby, so you can graduate from the NICU to your parent's house :) They have a great crib and more waiting for you and your little brother :) Don't get used to calling him little though, as soon he will be way bigger then you :)

Awesome news for Brian to go back to work on, knowing both his kids are doing great, and he can have a great week at work with a smile on, knowing his kids are super stars :) Annie, keep holding down the fort, cheering these two on, as they are doing so great! The love from you two really makes all the difference in the world, as well as everyone's prayers :)

    GO DRAKE AND KENNEDY :)
