Both Kennedy and Drake have started off today on a good note. Drake is currently receiving another blood transfusion and this time they had to use a vein in his little head. It is so hard to watch. We know it is not as bad as it seems to us, but watching our babies go through so much at such a young age is extremely difficult.
They have both moved up on their feedings to 3cc every 3 hours. We are concentrating on nutrition and growth. And we pray with every blood test for good results.
I always look forward to your updates! Thanks for being so good about keeping up with them. Please know that you're SO not alone! Drake's and Kennedy's names are frequently spoken in our family, and even moreso in our prayers. We think about you all the time, and will continue to act as prayer warriors for these little sweeties. Hope you can feel all the love!
ReplyDeleteLiah, thank you for your continued prayers and support! We witness the effects of your prayers daily here in the NICU. Especially, when Drake and Kennedy surprise the doctors :) Your love, support and prayers mean the world to us.
DeleteThat is not easy at any age to watch. My sister had a shunt put into her head during her car accident and even watching that happen to a 22 year old was painful to watch. You have been in my thoughts since the first day, Annie. I am wishing you all of the best and hope that when I am down in the fall that I can make it down to see y'all. Katie Kellum-Borth
ReplyDeleteKatie, thank you for your support! We would love to see you when you come down in the fall.
DeleteHi, Sarah L. told me about Kennedy and Drake, and sent me the link to the blog. Just letting you know, that there's another person out here, saying prayers and following along. They are such precious little babies, sending prayers and thoughts your way. Will keep watching for updates :)
ReplyDeleteTheresa, thank you for your prayers and support!
DeleteHi. My daughter cheers with Hannah and Teresa shared this link with me. I am so happy to hear they have moved up to 3cc! I keep them in my prayers and admire your strength and courage durung this challenging time. Just as an aside, i think using the head vein is probably more comfortable since the arms and legs wiggle, but i totally agree it is hard to see.
ReplyDeleteStay strong, God gave the exact parents Drake and Kennedy need and you are doing an amazing job already!
Natalie, thank you for your kind words, prayers and support.
