Still Time for a Miracle

24 hours ago we were told that without urine output, Drake would not make it more than 24 hours. Still no urine output, and he is continuing to fight. Both mommy and daddy are physically and emotionally drained. But we have refused to leave his side and will continue to do so as long as it takes.

Kennedy is doing well and behaving since she knows we are taking care of her brother. She is making improvements in her nutrition and ventilator settings. She has passed the 2 pound mark weighing in at 2# 2oz.

I cannot write any more at this time. I am in so much pain for Drake, but I would do anything in the world to take the problems he is having and put them on me.

  1. Drake continues to show everyone what a fighter he is! Praying he continues to have the strength to keep going until his kidneys can kick in and start working right, and keep that little fighter going strong!

Praying you two have the strength to keep going as well, as Drake having you by his side in his corner is the best motivation for him to keep fighting.

Praying for everyone, knowing that God has you all in his hands.

  4. God is still working miracles in that little guy. Lots of prayers are working!!! Continued prayers that God will heal his little body.

Mom and Dad - if Drake is up to it, ask a nurse for an ink pad to put a foot or hand print in the book you read him yesterday. That way you can look back years to come and remember how tiny he was the first time it was read to him. Prayers for many more stories to come.

  10. Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you in prayer for this family. I bow before you with my hands raised. With your great mighty healing hands I ask that you place them on Baby Drake allowing him to heal. Lord please release the toxins from his body, remove any pain, show your mercy on his tiny soul. Father I understand the pain these parents are going through as they watch their little angel struggle for his life. Ease their minds and their hearts. Thank you Lord for healing Kennedy and allowing her body to thrive. I ask that you do the same for Drake. Lord we understand that your will be done and that no matter what you love his mommy and daddy very much and you only want what is best for these two sweet babies. Father God heal this family and allow them to be as one. In your precious name I pray. Amen.

My personal prayer partner and I have prayed in agreement for God to place His almighty hand on Drake's little kidneys and cause them to start working right now. We believe in and claim His promise to honor that agreement. God bless you and hold you all very closely during this terrible time. Arlie and Vicki Shultz.

  35. Praying for you Drake that you will pull through this and your kidneys start to function. You are a strong little boy and you have so many people praying and routing for you. Continue to fight little buddy!! <3

  36. It sounds like these two are giving you fair warning that they are spirited and feisty! I doubt that changes as they get older.

I'm so thankful for another day with Drake. His strength (and yours) totally shocks me. I just can't give up hope that his kidneys will resume function. God programmed those kidneys to know what to do and I can't help but think that they're down but not out. I pray that those kidneys are fighting to restart and that we'll see them prevail today.

I heard a pastor say on a radio program yesterday, "It's not over until God says it's over." It immediately made me think of Drake.
